Yes, you heard that right....these are gluten-free, super fudgy, and DELICIOUS.
1 cup creamy, natural almond butter
½ cup packed brown sugar
¼ cup maple syrup
1 tbsp vegetable oil
⅓ cup dark cocoa powder
¼ teaspoon baking soda
⅛ teaspoon salt
2 oz chopped dark chocolate
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line an 8x8 inch pan with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix together the almond butter, brown sugar, maple syrup and eggs until smooth. Next, add vegetable oil, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt and mix until well incorporated. Note, your batter should be very thick.
Add the brownie batter to the prepared pan and evenly spread out using a rubber spatula. Sprinkle chopped chocolate on top.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until toothpick comes out clean (or with just a few crumbs). Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 30 minutes before removing or cutting.
